Turkey's tourism income increases to 20.8 billion USD in 2010

ANKARA (A.A) - Turkey's tourism income was recorded as 20.8 billion USD in 2010.
Turkey's tourism expenditure amounted to 4.8 billion USD according to TUIK's tourism statistics for the fourth quarter of 2010.
In the fourth quarter of 2010, October, November and December tourism income increased 4.9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. Tourism income is examined as 5.2 billion USD at fourth quarter of 2010. 3.7 billion USD of this income is obtained from foreign visitors, 1.5 billion USD is from citizens residing outside Turkey.
Visitors carry out their travel individual or package tour. Tourism income including individual and package tour expenditures, 4.4 billion USD of tourism income comes from individual, 767.8 million USD of tourism income comes from package tour expenditure.
Foreigner's average night spent is 9,8 nights, average expenditure is 618 USD. Citizen's residing outside Turkey average night spent is 37 nights, average expenditure is  1.514 USD.
Number of departing visitors increased 1.6 percent  compared to the same period of the previous year
Tourism expenditure increased 11.9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
