Turkish Deputy PM to attend D-8 meeting in Nigeria
ISTANBUL (A.A) - July 12, 2011 - Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc departed from Turkey on Tuesday to attend a meeting of D-8 in Nigeria.
Arinc will first fly to Egypt, where he will visit the Turkish Embassy in Cairo, and then head to Nigerian capital Abuja.
Prior to his departure, Arinc told reporters that he would attend the 14th meeting of the council of foreign ministers of the Developing-8, or D-8, a group for economic cooperation among Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey. The meeting will take place on July 14.
Headquartered in Istanbul, D-8 was established in 1996 at the initiative of Turkey.
Arinc said he would have chance to meet ministers from D-8 countries during the gathering in Nigeria.
