Turkish frigate and ferryboat take Egyptians to Alexandria
ALEXANDRIA (A.A) - 07.03.2011 - A Turkish ferryboat and a frigate took nearly 1,200 Egyptian nationals to their country.
The ferryboat "Samsun" and the frigate "Gelibolu" evacuated Egyptian passengers from Libya following the unrest in this country and brought them to Alexandria Port of Egypt.
Egyptian nationals expressed gratitude to Turkey over the assistance. There was also an Australian national among the passengers.
Turkey has so far evacuated 21,505 people, including 2,982 foreign nationals, from Libya, since the beginning of the protests against Muammar Gaddafi's 42-year reign two weeks ago.
