Turkish-Morocco Trade volume target 3 bln USD
ISTANBUL (A.A) - 29.01.2011 - Members of Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists of Turkey (TUSKON) and Moroccan businessmen got together in "Turkey-Morocco Trade Bridge" meeting in Istanbul on Saturday.
TUSKON's Chairman Rizanur Meral said that they targeted to increase the trade volume between Turkey and Morocco to three billion USD in a short time.
He noted that the figure was 1.1 billion USD in 2010, adding that this did not reflect the real potential between the two countries.
Thanks to trips to Morocco TUSKON organized, the number of Turkish companies investing in that country increased, said Meral.
Meral said that there was a big potential in textile, ready-made-clothing, retailing, construction materials, contracting and tourism areas for Turkish businessmen in Morocco.
He added that TUSKON, since the day it was established, had been organizing international trade summits under the title "foreign trade bridge".
Nearly 80 Moroccan and more than 200 Turkish businessmen attended the meeting.
