Turkish PM says Turkey's demands accepted in NATO

ISTANBUL (A.A) - 25.03.2011 - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Friday that Turkey's demands for joint action of NATO, Arab League and African Union gained acceptance.
"What we have demanded was that NATO should not get involved by itself only. It should take action along with the Arab League and African Union," Erdogan told reporters in Istanbul.
"We should do it together. Because this mistake was seen in Iraq and Afghanistan. We have said the same mistake should not to be repeated. Our demand gained acceptance in NATO," he said.
Erdogan also said Turkey had a lot to do in Libya as a friend.
"I had several phone conversations with Libya's Prime Minister overnight until 2:30 a.m. We have discussed what we could do about humanitarian aid efforts. Also, Mr. Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has engaged in a busy phone diplomacy. We will preserve our sensitivities on relief efforts in Libya," Erdogan said.
"We will not leave Libya alone. We will maintain our attitude for unity and integrity of Libya until the end," he added.
