Turkish president due to Saudi Arabia
ANKARA (A.A) - August 12, 2011 - Turkish President Abdullah Gul will travel to Saudi Arabia on Friday night.
A statement by the Presidential Press Center said that President Gul would leave for Saudi Arabia the same day to attend a meeting of board of trustees of Oxford Center of Islamic Studies in Jeddah on Saturday.
President Gul will also hold talks with officials and businessmen who will attend the meeting.
He is set to return to Turkey on Sunday.
The Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies is a Recognised Independent Centre of the University of Oxford. It was established in 1985 to encourage the scholarly study of Islam and the Islamic world. HRH The Prince of Wales is the Patron of the Centre. It is governed by a Board of Trustees consisting of scholars and statesmen from different parts of the world, alongside representatives of the University of Oxford. President Gul has been a member of board of trustees of the center since 2004.
