Turkish, Russian foreign ministers meet in New York

NEW YORK (A.A) - September 22, 2011 - Turkish foreign minister met his Russian counterpart in New York on Wednesday.
Ahmet Davutoglu and Sergey Lavrov met on the sidelines of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly in New York, and discussed bilateral political and economic relations, developments in Cyprus and East Mediterranean, Palestine, Balkans and Syria.
After their meeting, Lavrov met Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
Moreover, Davutoglu attended Jammu-Kashmir Contact Group meeting, non-proliferation and disarmament initiative (NPDI) meeting and Bosnia-Herzegovina Contact Group meeting during the day.
Davutoglu said during the Jammu-Kashmir Contact Group meeting that Turkey was backing solution of the dispute through peaceful methods, dialogue and negotiation.
In the NPDI meeting, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East was discussed. Davutoglu delivered a speech on Turkey's policy. 
During the Bosnia-Herzegovina Contact Group meeting, Turkey reiterated its support to this country, and gave the message that Turkey wanted establishment of a government soon.
