Turkish Telekom generates electricity from solar energy
ISTANBUL (A.A) - 20.02.2011 - Turkish Telekom is planning to raise the number of its power plants working with solar energy to 1,200, a company statement said on Sunday.
Turk Telekom started to use solar energy panels in 1992, and has increased use of renewable energy resources since then.
In 2011, Turk Telekom will produce 864,000 kwh of electricity p.a. with 500 new solar energy panels. This amount of electricity will meet annual electricity consumption of 400 families.
