Work for Raising Educational Level of Rural Schools in Kaesong City

Pyongyang, March 31 (KCNA) -- True to the intention of the Workers' Party of Korea to bring about a more revolutionary improvement in educational work, Kaesong City in the DPRK is substantially pushing ahead with the work for raising the educational level of rural schools.

The city worked out detailed regional assignment and action program on the basis of the realistic standard and stage-by-stage goals to be reached by schools with the main emphasis on improving the educational structure, content and methods and raising the level of education.

Officials in the field of education are directing efforts to improving the educational conditions and environment, strengthening the teachers' camp, bringing about an innovation in educational methods and cultivating the students' ability, while taking prompt measures to solve the problems arising in the work.

Instructors of teachers' retraining institutes in the city and its counties and districts are giving guidance and assistance to the teachers in improving their qualifications while disseminating superior teaching methods and teaching data.

Meanwhile, more than 14 000 teaching plans have been newly worked out to help improve the education of schools in rural areas in order to thoroughly realize the heuristic method of teaching in accordance with the characteristics of subjects. -0-
