The seventh and last phase of elections in Uttar Pradesh to constitute the new 403-member state legislative assembly took place Saturday involving an electorate of 18.23 million across 60 constituencies with 962 candidates in fray. The western state of Goa also went to polls today to constitute the next 40 member state assembly. Election Commission put the voter turnout today in UP at 62 per cent and in Goa at 81 per cent. Counting of votes in the two states as also in Punjab, Uttarakhand and Manipur which had completed their voting earlier will be taken up on March 6. PTI Photo
