Around 15 Turkish companies in talks to open stores in Russia

MOSCOW, November 30. /TASS/. Around 15 companies from Turkey are in negotiations to open stores on Russian territory, regional director of the retail real estate department at NF Group Evgeniya Hakberdiyeva told TASS. "Around 15 large players owning brands that may potentially be interesting to us and may be compared with European and American brands in terms of the level of quality and awareness are taking part in negotiations. This is mainly fashion and a small portion of household goods," she said. Around five Turkish brands have opened stores in Moscow and Russian regions since February 2022, including Efor, Perspective, and Ipekyol, Hakberdiyeva added. Among the Turkish brands there are those that are mulling the Russian markets, and those that have already been traditionally represented in the country and are expanding, such as Colin's and Koton, Managing Director of the Russian Council of Shopping Centers (RCSC) Oleg Voitsekhovsky told TASS. Up to four Turkish stores may be opened in large trading centers in cities with a million-plus population and the regions’ biggest cities in December 2022 - January 2023, he said, adding that overall, the potential of Turkish brands will be sufficient for the opening of a couple of hundred stores in Russia. "adL, Mudo, LTB, Twist and Ipekyol are considering our market, as well as fast-food chains Chitir Chiken and Yesen Burger. It is difficult to see the whole picture all across Russia as many contracts are made directly between potential Russian partners and Turkish chains, including from regions. Nevertheless, the RCSC is monitoring new-comers on the market from the Turkish union of brands," the expert said. Photo by Sergey Bobylev/TASS Read more
