Asahi Kasei Sets Up Design Unit in Vietnam

Tokyo, April 25 (Jiji Press)--Asahi Kasei Corp. <3407> said Monday it has set up a subsidiary in Ho Chi Minh City, southern Vietnam, to design and support the production of resin parts and molds. With capital totaling some 60 million yen, Asahi Kasei's first overseas design unit is set to start operations in June. Demand for resin parts for automobile production is growing in the Southeast Asian country, Asahi Kasei said. Using engineering technology, the Vietnam unit's operations will include the design of high-function resin automobile parts as replacements for metal ones and running product simulations. END
