Caspian Sea Port To Be Constructed By Private Sector

Bander Anzali, Dec 18, IRNA – Managing-director and head of Board of Directors of Anzali Free Trade Zone Saeed Rahimi said on Monday that the country's private sector will play major role in construction of Caspian port. Speaking to IRNA, he said construction of wave-breakers, jetties and equipment requires rls 15,000 billion which is beyond financial capability of Anzali Free Trade Zone. The project envisaged construction of wave-breaker, loading and unloading docks, silos and port equipment; he said adding that they can receive international finance. Given geographical characteristics of the port, it can help economic growth of the region, he said. The Caspian port could be considered as a suitable mechanism for transit of goods to Commonwealth of Independent States as well as the Caspian Sea littoral states./end
