CBI Will Apply Advanced Processing System To Determine Economic Indices: Bahmani

Tehran, May 20, IRNA – The Central Bank of Iran will apply advanced processing system to determine major economic indices, CBI Governor Mahmoud Bahmani said on Saturday. Bahmani made the remarks in a written message to the 34th Seminar themed ‘Determining Economic Data’. He said that the CBI will use precise calculus to release the figures about national economy. His remarks were an indirect acknowledgement that the figures being released by the Central Bank of Iran on monthly basis on the economy indices are not precise. He said that the mechanism the CBI adopted to release the monthly figures dates back to 75 years ago and must be updated to make them authentic. Bahmani said that the guidelines of the Supreme Leader to support national products and Iranian labor and capital as the motto of the new Iranian year made the CBI shoulder heavy responsibility as the Central Bank of Iran is steering the national economy. He said that the CBI is making planning in line with the commands of the Supreme Leader to help reach national objectives in the current year.
