CPO Price Up In South Sumatra

Palembang, July 23 (ANTARA) - The price of crude palm oil in South Sumatra rose to Rp7,490 per kilogram on Monday from Rp7,180 in the previous days . The price rise followed the trend in international market, an official of the South Sumatra plantation office Minarsih said here on Monday. The price is also set in a monthly meeting between the plantation office and a number of oil palm plantation companies in the province. The routine meeting also sets the price of fresh fruit bunches of oil palm at Rp1,521 per kilogram , up from Rp1,455 per kilogram, Minarsih said. She said the price of CPO followed the prevailing price in international market as most of CPO production from that province is exported. South Sumatra has tens of oil palm companies and almost all of them have FFB processing plants to produce CPO, but only two of them producing coopking oil from CPO. The prices of cooking oil in traditional markets in Palembang averaged Rp11,000 per kilogram , up from Rp10,200 per kg.
