Five Phases Of South Pars To Be Commissioned By Year End

Tehran, Oct 8, IRNA – Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Rokneddin Javadi said phases 12, 15, 16 and parts of 17 and 18 in South Pars will go on stream in the current calendar year (ends March 20, 2015). Speaking to reporters on Tuesday Javadi referred to the development of South Azadegan field and said: “We are not after new contracts and the field will be developed out of domestic resources.” He said the day when the former contractor left the field three rigs were active but today 16 rigs are operating in South Azadegan field. As for the presence of Chinese companies in the Iranian oil industry, Javadi said at present Chinese companies are present in North Azadegan and Yadavaran fields for development operations. Commenting on the purchase of floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit for production of oil from the oil layer in South Pars, he said the unit has been ordered and its relevant contract will be signed soon. He said NIOC is more inclined towards development priorities in joint oil fields and currently it has placed South Pars on its priority agenda./end
