Indian Trade Delegation Trip To Iran To Enhance Business

New Delhi, March 11, IRNA – Terming Iran a long-standing friendly neighbor, an Indian official Sunday said that trade delegation’s ongoing trip to Iran will explore new opportunities for enhancing business between the two nations. Talking to IRNA Rashid Alvi, Spokesperson of Indian National Congress said Iran had made considerable progress in all sectors and is a promising option for India. He was of the view that Iran, not only is a supplier of 12 per cent of Indian oil requirement but also is the gateway to Afghanistan. Flow of bilateral investments will enhance bilateral trade and the outcome will also boost the political relationship between the two friendly nations, he added. He underlined that the global financial crisis has shown that there was no choice but to strengthen regional cooperation to minimize the impact. “Holding discussions at regular intervals on bilateral economic and political cooperation will be beneficial not only to Iran and India but also for peace and security of the region and the world,” he noted./end
