Iran Calls For Further Ties With IMF

Tehran, Oct 14, IRNA – Governor of Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Valiollah Seif called for expansion of cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Seif made the remark in a joint meeting held in Washington between chiefs of central banks and finance ministers of countries in North Africa and Middle East regions with IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde. Seif, in the meeting, appreciated the IMF cooperation with regional states, stressing the IMF is expected to help regional countries improve their economic situations. The CBI chief further called on the IMF to cooperate with the Islamic Republic of Iran and exchange experiences. Seif, heading a high-ranking delegation is in Washington to attend the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG)./end
