Iran Interior Minister Announces 40% Rise In Foreign Investment

Kerman, March 3, IRNA – Interior Minister Mostaf Mohammad Najjar announced Saturday that foreign investment in Iran has increased by 40 percent. Addressing the inaugural ceremony for initiating executive operations of a cultural economic project ˈSarouj Pars Complexˈ in Kerman, he said that foreign investment worth $5b had been made last year (ended on March 21), 90 percent of which was materialized. The figure for the current Iranian year (to end on March 21) is $7b, he noted. Referring to a remarkable growth in non-oil exports, he added that the figure has increased to $57b. ˈThe enemies thought that the sanctions will stop Iranˈs economy but they were turned into opportunities in all the fields,ˈ he said./end
