Leading French business delegation to visit Thailand's EEC
BANGKOK, January 31 (TNA) - A leading French business delegation, led by Chairman of the France-Thailand Business Forum (FTBF) for the French side, François Corbin, is scheduled to pay a field trip to the Thai government-supported Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Project on February 1, aimed to explore their investment opportunities and expand their business cooperation with the Thai side.
The FTBF Chairman for the Thai side, Kongkrapan Intarajang, told journalists that the leading French business delegates comprise of members of task forces jointly set up with the Thai side to drive ahead investment cooperation between Paris and Bangkok in five targeted industries promoted by the Thai administration at the EEC.
Kongkrapan, who is also Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Upstream Petrochemical Business of PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (PTTGC), stated that the five targeted industrial sectors at Thailand's EEC, which support the Thailand 4.0 Policy, include the Agri & Food/Bioeconomy, the Transport Infrastructure, Smart City, Energy Transition and Hospitality & Wellness.
The FTBF co-chairman said, like business operators in other foreign economies, the visiting French business delegates appear to be now more confident in the Thai economy and are expected to inject more investment funds in the country, as the Thai Kingdom's new general election has already been clearly set on March 24, 2019.
The leading French business delegation, led by the FTBF chairman for the French side, is visiting Thailand during January 30-February 1 to attend the 2nd FTBF gathering in Bangkok.
After arriving in the capital on Wednesday, the leading French business delegation first met Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha, before Thursday's 2nd FTBF gathering and Friday's field trip to the Thai EEC Project. (TNA)
