PTT EnCo to become "Smart Community"

BANGKOK, January 23 (TNA) - PTT Public Company Limited (PTT), Thailand's largest petroleum firm, plans to join forces with seven commercial banks to adopt financial innovations to enhance the efficiency of their working offices. Chansin Treenuchagron, PTT's Chief Technology and Engineering Officer, told journalists on Tuesday that PTT will soon sign agreements with seven commercial banks on the cooperation, which is also in line with the government's Thailand 4.0 Policy. Under the agreements, Chansin said that PTT and the seven commercial banks will firstly develop PTT's Energy Complex (EnCo) to become a "Smart Community" in the future. Besides, PTT will help develop a communication center in Bangkok's Bang Sue area to become a national rail transport center equipped with, among others, financial innovations, if the plan is given the green light by the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) and the Ministry of Transport. Meanwhile, state-run Krung Thai Bank (KTB) has launched its "KRUNGTHAI QR Code" service at the EnCo canteen and the PTT food center to support the government's National e-Payment Program, under which the Thai society is gradually developed to become a world cashless place in order to cut business costs, as well as increase the national competitiveness and public safety. KTB is organizing a promotional activity at the EnCo canteen and the PTT food center, where consumers can each pay for their food and drinks at only four baht per set through the innovative "KRUNGTHAI QR Code" service.
