RI's State Spending Reach 97.6 Pct Of Target

Jakarta, Jan 6 (ANTARA) - Realization of state spendings in 2011 reached Rp1,289.6 trillion or 97.6 percent of the target of Rp1,320 trillion set in the revised 2011 State Budget, Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo said. "The figure rose Rp247.6 trillion or 23.8 percent compared to Rp1,042 trillion in 2010," he said in a report on economic conditions here on Thursday. The central government`s spending reached Rp878.3 trillion, up 25.9 percent from Rp697.4 trillion the year before, increasing the absorption of the state budget funds as a whole, he said. Yet the state spending on goods and capital was lower than the ceiling set under the revised 2011 state budget, he said. "The matter was related to the policy to use budget fund for construction of office buildings as optimally and efficiently as possible, low absorption of offshore loans and grants, technical obstacles to land clearance, natural disasters and social problems," he said. Right now state spending on goods stood at Rp121 trillion or 84.7 percent of the target of Rp142.8 trillion and on capital Rp115.9 trillion or 82.2 percent of the target of Rp141 trillion, he said. Meanwhile, state spending on salaries reached Rp175.5 trillion, accounting for 96 percent of the target of Rp182.9 trillion, he said. He said ministries` and non-ministerial state institutes` spending in 2011 rose by Rp402.6 trillion. But in terms of percentage it fell to 87.2 percent from 90.9 percent or Rp332.9 trillion the year before. Meanwhile, state revenues and grants in 2011 reached Rp1,199.5 trillion, accounting for 102.5 percent of the target of Rp1,169 trillion set under the revised 2011 state budget, he said. As such, the 2011 state budget recorded a deficit of 1.27 percent of gross domestic product or Rp90.1 trillion, or lower than the target of 2.1 percent or Rp150.8 trillion, he said. "In the realization of the revised 2011 state budget, there has been unspent budget fund of Rp39.2 trillion which can be used as one of the development funding sources including for infrastructure development in 2012," he said.
