Toyota Sales Up 3.2 Percent In Indonesia

Jakarta, Dec 5 (ANTARA) - Sales of Toyota cars in Indonesia grew 3.2 percent to 36,996 units in November from 35,855 units in the previous month. Toyota has maintained lead in car market in the country. Avanza multipurpose vehicles (MPV) was the largest contributors to Toyota total sales, Joko Trisanyoto, the marketing director of PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) said here on Wednesday. Joko said Avanza sales in November reached 17,860 units, up 5.2 percent from 16,983 units in October. The sales in November exceeded the previous monthly record of 17,364 units in March. In the first 11 months of the year, Avanza sales totaled 175,049 units, up 18 percent year-on-year. Joko said increases were also recorded in the sales of compact vehicles, MPV, SUV, commercial vans and pick-up trucks. Sales of Toyota Yaris grew 24.6 percent to 2,736 units in November from 2,196 units in October. Altogether sales of Toyota passenger cars reached 32,855 units in November or an increase of 2.6 percent from the previous month.
