Works of Iranian musicians to be performed in Russia

Tehran, Nov 17, IRNA – Works of renowned Iranian musicians including Hormoz Farhat, Fouzieh Majd, Shahin Farhat, Amir Bakan and Amir Mahyar Tafreshipour will be performed in Saint Petersburg’s Museum of Contemporary Art. The contemporary music concert will perform works of modern Iranian composers on Sunday, Nov. 23. The works include noted composer Hormoz Farhat's ‘String quartet No.1’, Fouzieh Majd's ‘Dreamland for string quartet’, ‘String quartet No.4’ by Shahin Farhat, ‘Delirium for String quartet’ by Amir Bakan as well as ‘Broken Times' for String Quartet by Amir Mahyar Tafreshipour. ‘String quartet No.1’ was composed by Hormoz Farhat in 1953. In those times, string quartet was a unique work in the repertoire of Iran’s classic music. The string quartet of Fouzieh Majd, a leading Iranian composer, holds the most modern musical expression which will be staged for the second time. The work was previously performed in New York./end
