40 Iranian Art Works To Go On Christies Auction In UAE

Tehran, Oct 27, IRNA – The 15th Sale Season of the Christies Auction would be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on October 29-30 offering some 40 items by Iranian artists. The public relations office of Tehran galleries reported that out of a total 143 artworks offered on the auction, some 40 items belonged to 36 Iranian artists. Christie’s will offer modern and contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish art works during a three-part auction on October 29 and 30 in the UAE. The most outstanding Iranian art wok which is to be offered on the auction is Parviz Tavakoli’s bronze ‘Oh Persepolis II’ sculpture which offers a journey back to the pre-Islamic era of Iran or Persia. The Christie’s experts have proposed a price of $800,000-1.2 million for the sculpture, the report said. Other Iranian artists whose works are to be present in the auction include painters Mohammad Ehsaei, Farhad Moshiri, Reza Derakhshani and Y.z. Kami. Works of the Iranian well-known calligrapher Ali Shirazi as well as a photograph by Abbas Kiarostami and works of Idin Aghdashloo are to be offered on the 15th Sale Season of the Christies./end
