92% Of Electricity Industry Equipment Domestically Produced

Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi prov, May 15, IRNA – Some 92 percent of electricity industry equipment is produced by the Iranian experts and engineers, said managing director of Tavanir Company. Addressing the 21th Conference on Iran Electricity and Computer Engineering in Mashhad, Homayoun Haeri added that Iranian experts are able to design and build all types of electricity equipment such as generators. He said that the capacity of the Iranˈs power plants stood at over 69,000 megawatts, adding that currently, Iran ranks 14th in the field power output capacity. All the Iranian cities and 99.9 percent of rural areas are provided with electricity, he said, noting that 10 billion kilowatt per hour of electricity is being exported to neighboring states last year. The 21th Conference on Iran Electricity and Computer Engineering opened in Mashhad Ferdowsi University Tuesday and will work until May 16./end
