American collector returns prehistoric artifacts to Thailand

BANGKOK, Aug 3 (TNA) – An American collectors returned 12 prehistoric Ban Chiang artifacts to Thailand. Katherine Ayers-Mannix handed over her collection to Thailand through Thai embassy in Washington. All of the artifacts, mostly Ban Chiang pottery were sent to Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok and will be given to the Fine Arts Department next week. These Ban Chiang pottery with cord-marked, incised and painted decorations, a clay anvil and a bronze bracelet are aged between 1,800 – 4,000 years. The ancient objects will be put on display at the National Museum in Bangkok and the Ban Chiang Museum in Udonthani. (TNA)
