CSTO pledges to prevent recruitment of civilians by international terrorist organizations

MOSCOW, May 18 /TASS/. The Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the CSTO member states will discuss how to prevent recruitment of civilians by international terrorist organizations at its meeting on May 20, the Collective Security Treaty Organization said in a statement received by TASS on Monday.
The Committee discussed the functioning of a system of collective reaction to emergencies and measures to counteract the recruitment of citizens of SCO states by international terrorists and prevent them from traveling abroad with an aim to join armed conflicts on the side of international terrorist organizations, the statement said.
"The situation in Afghanistan and its impact on the CSTO zone of responsibility will also be part of the agenda," the CSTO said.
After the meeting, the secretaries of Security Councils are expected to approve a plan of consultations of representatives of countries members of the Collective Security Treaty Organization /CSTO/ for the second half of 2015 and the first half of 2016.
CSTO’s Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha will make a speech at the Committee’s meeting.
