Drug crackdowns will continue, says Thai PM

CHIANG MAI, December 17 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra vowed on Saturday that her government will continue cracking down narcotics and related crime in the country. Speaking during her weekly address, "the Yingluck government meets people", from Chiang Mai Province in the Thai North, her hometown, Yingluck said that, when keeping on suppressing drug-related crime, her Pheu Thai Party-led administration will also cooperate with anti-narcotics agencies overseas. Meanwhile, regarding a latest case in which ill-intentioned people placing a fake bomb in Bangkok’s Bang Khen area apparently aimed to create panic among people, just days after a bomb was found and defused near the Government Lottery Office (GLP) on Rajadamnoen Avenue in the heart of the capital on December 6 and six others were discovered and timely defused in three separate locations of the city's Lat Krabang area earlier this week, the prime minister insisted that concerned officers have been tracking down those behind the bombing-related cases.
