Exhibition on late King held at Klai Kangwon Palace

PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN, May 1 (TNA) -- An exhibition on valuable works performed by His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej for his subjects is being held at the Klai Kangwon Palace in the seaside resort district of Hua Hin in Prachuap Khiri Khan. Organized jointly by the Queen Savang Vadhana Foundation and the Culture Ministry, the exhibition runs until the end of this May. It is open for the public from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. daily. The exhibition is divided into four parts. The first part shows when His Majesty the late King was young and spent his life at Sra Pathum Palace while the second one exhibits his numerous works and contributions the country. The third one displays respect and tribute paid by Thais and foreigners to His Majesty the late King. His royal speeches given to the Thais are the last part. Orasa Awutkom, director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand's Prachuap Khiri Khan Office, said the reason that the exhibition is being held at the Klai Kangwon Palace because it was the last palace that His Majesty the late King stayed before he passed away on Oct. 13. Also, the palace was the first place that he stayed when he first visited people between April 29 and May 1, 1950 after his marriage, said Ms. Orasa. Prachuap Khiri Khan also served as the first province when His Majesty the late King established rural development and irrigation projects, she added. (TNA)
