Gazprom plans to build about 50 km of Power of Siberia pipeline in 2015 - company

MOSCOW, May 19. /TASS/. Russian gas giant Gazprom plans to build about 50 km of the Power of Siberia pipeline in 2015, the company’s Deputy Chairman of Gazprom’s management committee Vitaly Markelov told reporters on Tuesday. "Gazprom has already welded 15 km of line pipe of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline," he said. He said that the Stroitransgaz company had won a bid to build 208 km of the pipeline stretch from Chayanda to Lensk in Russia’s republic of Yakutia. On May 21, 2014, Gazprom and China National Petroleum Corporation /CNPC/ signed a $400 bln contract on gas supplies to China along the eastern route in the next 30 years. The Eastern route envisages supplies of 38 bln cubic meters of Russian gas annually via the Power of Siberia pipeline. First gas exports to China are scheduled for 2019. Read more
