Iran-Iraq Stress Expansion Of Cultural Co-op
Tehran, Aug 1, IRNA - - Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini on Tuesday underlined the need for expansion of cooperation and interaction between Iran and Iraq in the field of culture and exchange of pilgrims.
He made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Iraqi Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Lava’ Abdossaheb al-Samim in Tehran.
Appreciating the good cooperation between Iranian and Iraqi officials in cultural fields, Hosseini said Iran expects the Iraqi side to be more flexible while receiving Iranian pilgrims in specific time of year and prepare more accommodations for the pilgrims.
Al-Samim expressed his country’s readiness to expand ties with Iran in all cultural fields especially in the domain of tourism and said Iran-Iraq cultural ties date back to ancient times.
He hoped to sign an agreement with Iran on tourism.
Al-Samim said Iran expects Iranian investors to make more investments in Iraqi tourism sector./end
