Iran's non-oil exports grow by 13% year-on-year

Ahvaz, Dec 5, IRNA – The value of Iran’s non-oil exports in the current Iranian year (started on March 21) amounted to $31 billion, showing 13% growth compared to the same period last year, according to Mohammad-Reza Modoudi, deputy minister of industry, mine and trade Modoudi, also the caretaker of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, made the remarks speaking during a conference in southwestern Iranian city of Ahvaz to mark the National Exports Day. “Unfortunately there is only one company in the country exporting over $1 billion a year and therefore we are seeking to create capacities for increasing exports by Iranian exporters,” Modoudi said. He said that the new US sanctions on Iran aim to increase forex costs for sales and imports of invaluable commodities into the country and to bring the country’s forex incomes to the lowest. The Iranian exports are also targeted by the enemies, the official said.
