Northern senator kills secretary

MAE HONG SON, August 13 (TNA) - A senator for Thailand's northern Mae Hon Son Province has confessed to have accidentally shot and killed his personal secretary. The 55-year-old senator, Boonsong Kowawisarat told local police on Monday that he shot his personal assistant, 46-year-old Chanakan Detkad with a submachine gun at a restaurant in adjacent Phrae Province last night. Boonsong said while waiting for food at the restaurant, he took out the 9mm Uzi submachine gun and the gun then accidentally discharged and his secretary was shot in the stomach. The local police said the senator will be charged with recklessness and prosecuted. (TNA)
