OIC proposes more development in Thai far South

YALA, May 11 (TNA) - The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has proposed more development in the lcoal economy and the education sector in the Thai deep South in order to resolve violence in the insurgency-plagued region. OIC special envoy Syed Qasim Al-Masri, who is visiting Thailand this week at the invitation of the Thai government, made the call on Thursday when he was in the country's southernmost Yala Province to get first-handed information and to learn on the situation. Police Colonel Tawee Sodsong , chief of Thailand's Southern Border Provinces Administration Centre (SBPAC), said after a meeting with the OIC special envoy and his delegation that he was delighted the OIC’s recommendation has matched the Thai government’s policy.
