Over 19m people turn out for "last goodbye" to late Thai King

BANGKOK, October 27 (TNA) - The Thai Ministry of Interior reports that more than 19 million people who bade their last farewell to late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej by putting the artificial funeral flowers at the Royal Crematorium built at Sanam Luang ceremonial ground near the Grand Palace in Bangkok and at Modeled Crematoriums built at other focal places nationwide. The ministry's ad-hoc command and facilitation center for the Royal Cremation of the late and beloved Thai monarch said on Friday that a total of 19,126,740 people put the Thai funeral wood flowers at the main Royal Crematorium at Sanam Luang, as well as at the Modeled Royal Crematoriums and designated temples and places in the capital and other provincial areas across the country on October 26. According to the ministerial report, the number of people who put the Thai artificial funeral flowers at the main Royal Crematorium at Sanam Luang and other Modeled Royal Crematoriums in the capital totaled 2,965,856, including all foreign distinguished guests, while the rest were those turning out at other Modeled Royal Crematoriums, as well as designated temples and places nationwide. The ministerial report stated that Thursday's situation was normally peaceful at all sites where people put the Thai cemetery flowers, representing their "last goodbye" to the late and revered Thai monarch.
