People in Kalasin pay tribute to the late King

KALASIN, Oct 20 (TNA) - Thai mourners in the province of Kalasin pay tribute to late King Bhumibol Adulyadj by forming the shapes of heart and the Thai number of nine, depicting the ninth king of the Chakri dynasty. Provincial officials, military personnel, students and residents of Kalasia assembled at the Provincial Hall Wednesday afternoon to show their respects to King Bhumibol Adulyadej who died on Thursday at the age of 89. Standing on the lawn, they also formed the shapes of mourning ribbon, heart and a Thai phrase, meaning “doing good for the father of the land.” Led by Governor Nathapat Suwanpratip, mourners can also pay respects to King Bhumibol Adulyadej portrait and signing condolences book inside the provincial administration building. In most recent memory, the people of Kalasin recalled the day His Majesty took a helicopter survey in November 1992 for hours. The King then returned and told officials that he found a location to build a reservoir to ease the water shortage in the area. The King later initiated a rural development project on water and land management. Showing their deep gratitude towards the King, participants at the event pledged to follow the King’s guidance.
