PM boosts morale of teachers in Thai far South

PATTANI, THAILAND, December 13 (TNA) - Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra arrived in the violence-plagued Thai far South on Thursday afternoon for a fresh visit to inspect the situation and to boost morale of local teachers, after many of them were killed or injured recently. Accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Pongthep Thepkanchana, an adviser to the prime minister, General Yutthasak Sasiprapa, and Army Chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha, Yingluck had a meeting with security authorities in the Thai deep South at the Provincial Hall of Pattani province and then met about 20 representatives of local teachers to listen to their problems and to boost their morale. The prime minister also met members of the government’s fund for the development of women's roles and representatives of people in the southernmost Thai region. (TNA)
