Salehi Visits Mowlana Museum In Konya

Ankara, Jan 19, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi visited Mowlana Museum named after well-known Iranian mystic and poet in Konya Wednesday. Salehi, who arrived in Turkey Wednesday morning to hold talks with Turkish officials, visited Konya at the invitation of his Turkish counterpart Amhet Davutoglu. Expressing pleasure with his visit to Konya, Salehi said that the great men will remain eternal in the history as his fans are increasing day by day after his death several hundred years ago. Describing Mowlana as a great figure for the Islamic world, he also said, “If we favor spirituality, we should understand Mowlana because his poems are inspired by the Quran.” Underlining that political consultations between the two countries’ officials are continuing, he said that Iran and Turkey are two great countries with a special status in the region. Thanks to the regional developments the exchange of views between the two sides' officials is of special significance, he said./end
