SPA Hosts Seminar of News Agencies-affiliated Arab Women Journalists 27 - 28 November in Riyadh
Riyadh, Nov. 10, 2019, SPA -- Under the patronage of the Minister of Media Turki bin Abdullah Al-Shabanah, who is also Chairman of the Saudi Press Agency, SPA is set to host the 3rd session of the seminar of Arab women journalists working in the news agencies titled "Role of the Arab News-Agencies-affiliated Women Journalists in Producing Knowledge and Motivating Arab Women" scheduled for the headquarters of SPA Conference Center in Riyadh from 27 - 28 November 2019, with the participation of a number of Arab women journalists from various Arab news agencies and media outlets.
In remarks to highlight the event, Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hussein, President of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), expressed happiness to play host to this session after Lebanon and Tunisia hosted the works of the first and second sessions respectively. On behalf of the Minister of Media who is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of SPA, and in his own name, and SPA's staff, Al-Hussein welcomed the participants from various Arab countries as well as the Secretary General of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) Farid Ayar and staff of the Secretariat as guests in their second country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Emanating from our belief in the importance of the women role in all societies in general and Arab society in particular, especially that the Arab women journalists play a big role in serving the Arab societies, we are organizing this important event, SPA President said.
He added that Saudi women have enjoyed great interest of the leadership of this country since late King Abdulaziz Al Saud to the present era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince.
The Kingdom's Vision 2030 also cited its interest in empowering Saudi women and supporting their developmental role through enhancing their participation in society to serve their country, he said, adding that this is not only for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, but for the various Arab countries.
Al-Hussein pointed out that this seminar will discuss eight topics in two sessions, which will be held within two days. The first session will be titled "The Arab News Agencies Women Journalists: Biography and March), and the second session will be titled "Arab Women Journalists in the 21st Century".
