Thai FM to pay official visit to Malaysia

BANGKOK, October 6 (TNA) - Thai Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul is scheduled to pay a two-day official to neighbouring Malaysia, from October 7-8, aimed to strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation between Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur in all areas. According to a brief statement released by the Thai government on Friday evening, Surapong will hold talks with his Malaysian counterpart Anifar Aman on bilateral relations and issues of mutual and regional interests. The statement said that the upcoming discussion between the Thai and Malaysian foreign ministers will also cover economic cooperation and a follow-up of issues raised during an official visit to Kuala Lumpur by Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra in February 2012. The Thai foreign minister is also scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak during his upcoming two-day trip to Malaysia. (TNA)
