Thai PM orders thorough checks of CCTVs at state offices
BANGKOK, June 9 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha has ordered a thorough check on all close-circuit televisions (CCTVs) installed at offices of government agencies and state enterprises to ensure their normal operations.
Government Spokesman Lieutenant General Sansern Kaewkamnerd told journalists of the the prime minister's order on Friday, saying that under the order, all the government and state enterprises' offices are required to report the results back to him by the end of this month.
The spokesman stated that the prime minister has also instructed offices finding any mal-function of CCTVs installed in their areas to immediately fix the problems or change to new ones to ensure their proper functions.
"The prime minister concerns over the safety and the life of people and pay special attention to actions and measures to make sure that CCTVs can work properly to regularly and smoothly record footage in order to prevent any untoward incident and to become the articulated evidence for police investigators in tracking down culprits" the spokesman stressed.
According to the spokesman, the government has sufficient budget to support the maintenance, or acquirements of CCTVs. (TNA)
