Thai tourists rescued from strong quake in Malaysia
BANGKOK, June 6 (TNA) - The Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s capital, confirms that four stranded Thai tourists on Mount Kinabalu in Malaysia, following Friday’s 6.0-magnitude earthquake, have already been rescued.
According to the official report, issued on Saturday, two people, including a Singaporean and a Malaysian, were killed in the strong quake, which hit the Malaysian Sabah State’s west coast at around 7:15 am on Friday (local time), but a total of 173 people had been rescued, including the four Thais, while 16 others remained missing, with no Thai nationals among them.
The official report said that Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur is coordinating with concerned authorities in sending the four Thais home. (TNA)
