Thailand recommended for more preparations toward AEC

BANGKOK, August (TNA) - The Office of the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDEB) says that more preparations are needed for Thailand in the lead-up to the formation of the Single Community of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) by 2015. NESDB Secretary General Arkhom Termpittayapaisith and his deputy, Suwannee Khamman suggested on Monday that Thailand further improve, among others, its medical and public health services, as part of national preparations for the ASEAN Community over the next three years. The top authorities of the government's think tank recommended that Thailand also invest more for further developing and producing new waves of medical and public health personnel, as well as medical equipment and service systems. According to the NESDB authoritie, Thailand's medical personnel and resources should also be distributed to all regions throughout the country, partly to serve international patients with developed databases.
