Thailand's top brass advises children to be well-disciplined
BANGKOK, January 11 (TNA) - Thailand's Army and Air Force Chiefs,General Prayuth Chanocha and Air Chief Marshal Prachin Chantong, have advised children to be well-disciplined and be studious so that they become a vital force for national development in the future.
General Prayuth told journalists on Saturday (Jan 11) morning, after presiding over the National Children’s Day fair, organised by the Royal Thai Army, that the annual National Children’s Day is the “day of happiness of every child" who should behave well in order to become good Thai citizens in the future.
General Prayuth acknowledged if Thailand wants to build up a positive society in the future, children need to be well-disciplined and understand their responsibilities.
The army chief stressed that every Thai should help strengthen national security and national problems must be solved by Thais only, apparently referring to ongoing domestic political protests.
But the army chief insisted that the Thai military has not planned to stage a coup, as rumoured, despite "Bangkok shutdown" announced by anti-government protesters from next Monday (Jan 13).
Meanwhile, The Thai air force chief also suggested, while presiding over the National Children's Fair at the Royal Thai Air Force headquarters, that Thai youths have responsibilities, be studious and be well-disciplined in order that they become a major force for national development in the future, urging parents to give their children good advices and the grownups to set good samples to the younger generations.
