Tourism in Thai North active

BANGKOK, December 8 (TNA) - Amid the cool breeze and temperature drops in Thailand’s north, thousands have now opted for weekend holidays in the region. In the northernmost province of Chiang Rai, tourists have massed popular areas such as Doi Pa Tang in Wiang Kaen district, to admire the panoramic sun view over the Mekong River amid a foggy weather. Hill top temperatures there on Sunday morning dropped below 10 degrees Celsius, as more than 1,000 resort rooms on the spectacular Doi Pa Tang are fully booked until next month. At Doi Mon Jaem in Mae Rim district of the northern capital of Chiang Mai, heavy traffic has been reported on roads leading to the hill top area, where an array of winter flowers and fruits are in full bloom. Native villagers are able to enjoy brisk business from sales of souvenirs, fruits and vegetables and outdoor camping space. National parks also fared well this season among holiday goers, especially the Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park in Phitsanulok’s Nakhon Thai district, where the temperature has dropped to a low 10 degrees Celsius and campsites all over park are fully booked until the year end.
