Turkish Film Festival begins in Beirut

BEIRUT (A.A) – March 6, 2012 - The 2nd Turkish Film Festival began in Lebanese capital of Beirut. Turkish ambassador in Beirut Inan Ozyildiz, European Union Ambassador Angelina Eichhorst, and Spanish, Egyptian and Polish ambassadors in Beirut as well as Turkish producers and directors attended the opening of the festival organized by Izmir Cinema Association. The festival began with Nuri Bilge Ceylan's "Bir Zamanlar Anadolu'da" (Once Upon A Time in Anatolia). Delivering a speech, Ozyildiz said that the festival was of great importance for cultural ties between Turkey and Lebanon. Tayfun Pirselimoglu's "Sac" (Hair), Seren Yuce's "Cogunluk" (Majority), Dervis Zaim's "Golgeler ve Suretler" (Shadows and Faces) and Fatih Akin's "Duvara Karsi" (Against the Wall) are among the films to be screened in the festival that will last till March 11.
