Turkish urbanization minister says permanent dwellings to be completed till September 2012

VAN (A.A) – October 30, 2011 – Turkey's environment and urbanization minister said on Saturday that permanent dwellings would be handed over to quake survivors in the eastern province of Van till September 2012. Erdogan Bayraktar said efforts were under way to provide winter tents, containers and prefabricated huts for quake survivors as the winter was approaching. "We will build permanent dwellings in two separate regions in Ercis town and in one area in Van, and hand them over to quake survivors by the end of September 2012," Bayraktar also said.  A 7.2 magnitude earthquake rocked Van last Sunday, killing at least 582 and injuring 4,152 others.
