TVK, MCOT sign MOU on media cooperation
BANGKOK, May 22 (TNA) - The National Television of Cambodia or TVK and MCOT Public Company Limited or MCOT, a most established Thai media firm running Modernine TV, Modern Radio Networks and Thai News Agency (TNA), have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on media cooperation in various aspects, including news exchange and digital TV development.
TVK Director-General Kem Gunawadh and MCOT President Anek Permvongseni inked the MOU in Phnom Penh, Cambodia's capital, on Tuesday, witnessed by Cambodia’s Information Minister Khieu Kanharith and high-ranking government officials, as well as MCOT executives and journalists.
The MOU lays the groundwork for the two government-backed broadcasters to realise their shared goal of helping both Cambodian and Thai people understand each other well and properly.
Under the MOU, TVK and TNA will cooperate on the exchange of news content, particularly those concerning society, culture and economy of each country, as well as on their share of relevant techniques and experiences.
Both sides will also cooperate on the development of personnel and media facilities and on joint studies for the development of digital TV under the framework of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations or ASEAN, in which both neighbouring countries are members. (TNA)
