TASS to foster closer ties with Cuban Foreign Ministry, media - director general

MOSCOW, November 22. /TASS/. TASS is committed to bolstering and fostering closer ties with the Cuban Foreign Ministry and Cuba’s Prensa Latina news agency, TASS Director General Sergey Mikhailov said at a meeting with Director of the Cuban Foreign Ministry’s International Press Center, Alberto Gonzalez Casals, on Wednesday. "TASS is in favor of strengthening traditional ties with the Prensa Latina news agency and the Cuban Foreign Ministry," he said. "We plan to develop closer cooperation between TASS and (our) Cuban colleagues in the future." Mikhailov added that "preparations are underway for signing a new agreement on cooperation between TASS and Prensa Latina." For his part, Gonzalez Casals reaffirmed the Cuban authorities’ willingness to provide assistance to the Russian news agency. "The Cuban Foreign Ministry is ready to provide assistance to the TASS news agency in obtaining exclusive information," he stressed. He also stressed the "importance of fostering information ties between longtime partners, Russia and Cuba." Read more
